A Hook And A Promise
Welcome!
Welcome to my space where I explore the art of making rugs. Rug Hooking, Rug Punching, and perhaps even Locker Hooking.

Meet Derf
Derf is the wall rug I made for my Mom for Giftmas. His name is really Fred, but for some reason we just kept calling him Derf as I was working on him.
I'm working on getting up to date here on the blog with my hooking endeavors, so that I can start posting As It Happens . I have learned of a local hooking group that meets once a month, and am really really nervous, but excited to go and meet some actual real-life-rug-hookers-that-are-not-hoping-to-sell-me-something.

My first Hooked Rug
Just a small wall hanging. Of course I didn't like the plain tree so I added red apples. I didn't like the identical sheep on each side so I reversed the colors on one. The original design did not include ground, but grass was suggested. However, given that the sheep obviously would need shorn before too much longer, and the ripe apples in the tree, I opted for a carpet of fallen leaves.
I'm pretty happy with the way it finished out. It's relatively flat, you can tell they are sheep, and it was fun to do. What more could I ask for!
